LUKLA AIRPORT
Avio-tourism perspective: Lukla is perched at an altitude of 9 100 feet above sea level. It is also known as the doorway to the Mt. Everest. The trail to Everest base camp and Sagarmatha National Park starts from here. The busiest STOL airport of Lukla is a well-known tourist airport lying in Solukhumbu District of the Eastern Development Region of Nepal.

In recognition to the potentiality of this STOL airfield, its runway, taxiway, apron has been renovated and paved and a new terminal operational complex has been constructed under the Second Tourism Infrastructure Development Project. Likewise new communication and navigational facilities have also been installed.
