Avio-tourism
perspective: Lukla is perched at an altitude of 9 100
feet above sea level. It is also known as the doorway
to the Mt. Everest. The trail to Everest base camp and
Sagarmatha National Park starts from here. The busiest
STOL airport of Lukla is a well-known tourist airport
lying in Solukhumbu District of the Eastern Development
Region of Nepal.
In recognition to the potentiality of this STOL airfield,
its runway, taxiway, apron has been renovated and paved
and a new terminal operational complex has been constructed
under the Second Tourism Infrastructure Development Project.
Likewise new communication and navigational facilities
have also been installed. |
